My favorite thing about car shows are the hood ornaments. They don't make them like they used to.
Our friend, Bill Walker, has restored his first car, a 1967 or 1969 Plymouth Road Runner, and it's a beauty. It took him many years to bring it back to life. Everything is original and it sounds too cool for school when the engine is fired up. Today he entered it in his first car show. I don't know if he won anything, but he sure was proud and we were proud for him.
Jackson holds a fall arts and crafts festival every November. They usually have a great variety of antique cars. Although there were far fewer cars there today than normal, I was able to find several with hood ornaments I liked. This one shouts "V8"--boy I'd love to have one of those in my car. As Ricky Bobby says, "I wanna go fast."
