Any day is a good day for baseball, right? Even in the rain? Sure.

A well-executed suicide squeeze was not enough for our Leroy Bears to win the Class 2A State Championship. For the third year in a row, they were the runner-up. They came back in the second game of the series to win 6-3 and held on through the fifth inning of the third game, but eventually lost 7-1. It's nothing to be ashamed of and I'm still proud of these young men. There aren't many teams that make it to the state finals five out of the last six years. Still love me some Bears. Go Bears Go!
Leroy played the first game of the Class 2A State Championship Series against Mars Hill Bible, losing 5-0. The Bears have come from behind before, so our hope is that they rebound tomorrow. Go Bears Go!
Leroy played the third game in their series against Flomaton and won 16-6. The Bears head to the State Finals in Montgomery next week for the fifth time in six years. I recently learned that they have been in the playoffs for eighteen consecutive years. Everybody say, "Go Bears Go!"
Leroy played Flomaton in the Class 2A Semi-Finals, splitting 2-1 and 1-2. We play again tomorrow for the chance to go to Montgomery for the state finals. Go Bears Go!
Leroy's third game of the Quarter Finals was a nail-biter for the first five innings with no scoring. But there was a bunch of yelling at the umpires from both sides (which always makes for an interesting game). The Bears kicked in and won 7-0. Now they are one of only four Class 2A teams in the state remaining, moving on to the Semi-Finals. Next up, Floamaton. Go Bears Go!
Leroy played a really good Thorsby team in the Quarter Finals.
We split and have to play again tomorrow. Good luck Bears.
