Another cool morning causing fog to form and glide over the Tombigbee River.
I know, it's another sunset at the bridge, but the sun is setting a little further to the south of previous sunsets, a sure sign of changing seasons.

I wanted to catch the fog on the river, but only had my long lens, which really didn't capture the scene very well. I thought I'd get another shot of something before the sun set, but just let it be said that it was a terrible, terrible day and it was after dark before I got home.
Another beautiful sunset on the river.

I'm running out of things to photograph, so after I worked out I decided to go on a little exploration to the public boat launch in Jackson. I was glad I did, although I had to call Matt to tell him where I was, just in case some bad elements showed up. It was nice to sit in the stillness and watch the comings and goings on the river for a while. I'm sure I'll visit again.

We went to the Mariner Restaurant at Dog River with some friends tonight. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the scenery, but it was disheartening to know that the oil slick isn't far away, waiting to find it's way here to destroy our fragile Ecosystem. Just under the Dog River Bridge, we could see the orange oil booms floating, pretending to be our first line of defense. It breaks my heart to see the pictures in the news showing the oil covered wildlife and I always have to look away. I pray God will be merciful to those animals and that He will give us the wherewithal to figure out how to stop the leak and clean it all up.
