I lucked up and found a female green lynx spider guarding her egg sac. Pretty icky looking. Sad to say they may not survive the harvest.
Green Lynx Spider
After about 4 weeks, we finally got a little bit of rain. Since it was a little cooler, I decided to hit the cotton fields and try to find some blossoms. At one point I noticed a bee that seemed to be dangling under a leaf; when I looked closer, I found a green spider had captured it. I've never seen a spider that looks like a watermelon, with creepy spiny legs--yuck! I felt sorry for the bee, but also found myself craving watermelon. Well ... I went home and ate watermelon.
