Grove United Methodist Church, Leroy, Alabama
Today was homecoming at our church. For Baptists, that means dinner on the ground. For my non-churched friends, that doesn't mean that we actually eat dinner "on the ground"; it means that everyone brings food which is spread on tables for everyone to share. You always leave blessed and fully satisfied.
While visiting with one of our church members, she asked me to photograph our church, Leroy First Baptist, and the Methodist church, Pine Grove United Methodist, so she could frame them for her home. Luckily, the day was beautiful with clear blue skies and low humidity, so I immediately set out to take the pictures. But you know me, I wanted a little bit more, so I went to all the churches of Leroy. Some were still holding services and at one I even found all the ladies dressed in beautiful white dresses, standing outside visiting. Of course, I didn't stop to take the picture then, but I sure wanted to. I'm thinking of framing them together, with the church sign, "The Churches of Leroy Welcome You."
