I was hoping to share another neat mushroom, but when I got home, football practice had begun and all the young'uns had invaded the walking track and field behind our house (which is where the mushroom was growing). Oh well, thank goodness I have a wonderful neighbor who lets me explore his family home site. I found some sand pears and other goodies to shoot. Yay! A little texture by Shadow House Creations took away the gray gloom from overcast skies. Now, to give you a final update on the job front. I started my new job last week and I really like it. At this point, it's a much slower pace, but the people are incredibly nice and the firm is very flexible. I'm looking forward to learning more about my co-workers and spending many years with them. Thanks for all your encouraging words. You'll never know how much you meant to me. I hope to find time soon to catch up with everything that's going on in your world. God bless.
The sand pears are ripening. When I was younger, my brother David and I would get a knife and sit outside peeling and eating them raw until we had a stomach ache or Mom would gather them and make pear preserves.
Sadly, the only ones enjoy the pears now are the squirrels. I don't know how to make preserves and Mom is too tired to try. :( And maybe it's better that the squirrels have stomach aches instead of me.
