We had a busy but lazy Sunday -- church, out to eat, stop by the store, back home to sit in the air conditioning and watch TV. Puff and Blue Boy hung out on the sofa with Dave. Blue Boy was made and given to us by Dave's grandma because it looked like one of our cats. It was made over 20 years ago. We have owned several cats and, with the exception of a beautiful spotted black and white cat named Prissy, all have been either black or grey tabby long-haired. When we first moved to Leroy, we had a pair of siblings named Blue Boy and Pinky (named after the famous paintings). Pinky was black and Blue Boy looked like Puff. I sometimes think that Puff is the reincarnation of Blue Boy and BG is the reincarnation of Pinky (although I don't believe in reincarnation). Nonetheless, it makes a good story.
Two Black Cats

This is BOBB (Big Old Black Boy) with the green eyes. Bobb arrived at our house several years ago--even with all the dogs. He started by living under the front porch. We referred to him as "the old man under the porch." We discovered later that he originally belonged to one of our church members. They called him Bijou because his eyes were like emeralds. They moved about 6 to 8 miles from their original home, taking Bijou and their other cats with them. But neighborhood dogs chased the cats, scaring many of them off or perhaps killing them. Our friends thought Bijou had been killed. Several years later, I was telling her how, out of the blue, Bobb had taken up under our porch. She asked if he had some white fur on his hind leg. I told her no, but later noticed that he did. She stopped by one day after church and, sure enough, it was Bijou. He had traveled several miles to finally feel safe at our home. She said he was neutered in the fall of 1998, so he is about 15 years old.
And this is BG (Black Girl) with the golden eyes. BG was found at our pastor's house and our son managed to talk us into keeping her. Of course, he was going to pay her vet bills (which he never did). She is our huntress, so I always have to keep an eye on her. We try to keep her fat and lazy in order to keep her away from birds and lizards. You don't mess with the Bee.

She and Dave have a sweet connection. Here she is watching for him to walk across the street. She loves him and he loves her.
Another rainy Sunday for which I am grateful. W need the rain. Here is Little Baebay (a/k/a Midget Mutt -- sorry, I'm not trying to offend little people, but that's her nickname). This is Molly's pup. After she had her litter of four, we tried to give all the babies away to good homes. Dave kept hanging on to Baebay. One day he got a call for the last of the pups, he told me that he told them they were all taken. I said, "No, we still have the black and tan." He replied, "No, she's taken too. I'm keeping her." So, she became our pup--a part of our happy family.
Molly is the pet of the day. I don't share many pictures of her because she is shy and not very photogenic. She and her mate were dumped on the side of the road. Some kind souls took pity on them and began to feed them, but after her mate was hit and killed by a car, I couldn't take it any more. I picked her up and brought her home. We soon realized she was pregnant. She had a litter of four little pups and we kept one, Baebay. I'll try to get her picture next.
And the pet of the day is Puff. He always looks cross.
