Summer Sunshine. :-)
This sunflower germinated from some of the scattered birdseed. It is growing in my small flower bed around my pecan tree. The heat is beginning to get to it, though, so it won't last much longer, but it is a nice bit of sunshine seeing me off in the morning and welcoming me home each day.
I got up early to head down to our neighbor's sunflower field. Bees were buzzing all over the place. I loved my time there. I don't think anyone can look at sunflowers and not smile.

Look what I found growing in my patch of petunias. I guess some of the black sunflower seeds I put out for the birds germinated. Let's see how high it will grow.
Another picture of yellow flowers (narrow leaf sunflowers). If you didn't already know, yellow flowers, especially daisies, are my favorite. I don't have PhotoShop, but tried adding a little texture to give you some variety. Hope it brightens your day.
Narrow leaf sunflowers
The narrow leaf sunflowers are blooming along the roadside and they are beautiful. Today I stopped and snatched a few. (Yes, I was worried I would get caught--I'm not sure it's illegal, but I didn't want to take a chance--you know the saying, "Ignorance is no excuse for the law.") Anyway, I tried to get a few pictures in the backyard before the sun disappeared, but Baebay and the other dogs kept sticking their noses in my business. I finally got some beautiful pictures of the sun-lit flowers, but I liked this one with curious Baebay (a/k/a "Midget Mutt") snooping.
