Dave ran over this little fellow with the lawn mower while cutting the grass this afternoon. Thankfully, he was hiding in a hole recently dug by one of the dogs. You can even see the cut grass clinging to his skin. I rescued him, saving him from his ultimate, bloody demise. I'm sure he was very thankful.
After photographing some wildflowers on the roadside this afternoon, I happened upon a little pond. When I went to investigate I found these oh-so-cute baby toads. It brought back a lot of childhood memories. These little creatures won't last long, though, if discovered by an egret or snake. Let's hope they remain well-hidden.
