Today our friends' daughter, Sarah, got married. When her parents were married, her father sang to his bride. Today he sang again and so did Sarah. She made her way around the balcony, singing to her groom about loving him for a thousand years. She descended the staircase as her father waited patiently at the bottom, ready to escort her down the aisle. It was simply a beautiful service. Congratulations Sarah and Drew. We wish you many blessings in your new life together.
I've had a very very busy week. I finally had a full evening to address wedding invitations for my friend's daughter's wedding. I love weddings.
It was a beautiful ceremony on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay.
My friend, Kim, and her husband, Kent, gave away their daughter today in marriage.
I finally feel like my life is getting back to normal. This morning I found time to get a few miles in on the elliptical and even worked out on the weights--YEOW! I'm already feeling pain, but that's a good thing. We had a wedding to attend this afternoon and Amy made a beautiful bride. Weddings always make me cry because everyone is so overjoyed. It was a beautiful wedding with a ceremony that mirrored our own. We wish Danny and Amy every happiness in their new life together.
My brother's eldest son, Eric, married the love of his life, Veronica, today. It was one of the most wonderful weddings I've ever attended. I have attended many, many weddings--some grander, more expensive, more elaborate, more splendid, and more costly--but never have I felt more sure that a couple will spend a wonderful lifetime together. I know that their wedding was had for the right reasons--not to have a wedding, but to be wed--to join with God and each other to create a new life together.

They married in the church where Eric's parents and Dave and I were wed. It was simply decorated--no flowers or candles in the windows, no ornate flower arrangements, no special music, a single bridesmaid, a simple ceremony with "I do's" and "I take thees" and the exchange of rings. My mom even wore the same dress she had worn to Eric's parents' wedding 23 years before. Eric is in the Air Force and recently got his first station in Arizona. He came home on Thursday, married on Saturday, and flies back out (alone) on Tuesday. A short honeymoon in Florida and his bride will join him in Arizona at the end of June.

Although both are only 19 years old, I know they will have a wonderful adventurous life together and I pray God's blessings on their joining of lives.
Michael and Jenny had a beautiful wedding today. They seem very happy together. We have watched Michael grow from an infant into a handsome, funny, outgoing, loving, young man. Jenny is a beautiful young lady who has brought him much joy. We pray blessings upon them as they start a new life together.
Our best friends' youngest son, Michael, is getting married tomorrow. Today we worked all day long getting ready for the rehearsal dinner. Michael and Jenny are avid Auburn fans, but as a joke (with a little help from PhotoShop), a family friend presented them with a picture with Nick Saban, coach for the University of Alabama. (No, they weren't impressed.)
Today we took a drive to Opp to attend the "marriage covenant" made between Ashley and Chris. It was a beautiful ceremony and both were beaming. They're such a sweet couple and so happy together. We pray God's blessings on them and their new life together.
