I've grown up around farming my entire life. In Italy they grew artichokes; in Texas they grew wheat; and here in Alabama they grow potatoes, soybeans, peanuts, corn, wheat, and cotton.
Not all goes well when peanut picking season comes. This small garter snake was a casualty. Do you see it in the right-hand corner, above the "le" in my name? It was a pretty little thing. So sad it died.
And I still love the smell of fresh dirt. I guess it's that country girl in me.
